White Paper : Actinic Catalog Security BriefingActinic Catalog v.4 was released in July 2000. It is an entry level ecommerce product designed to be simple to use, low cost and secure. It is designed for use by vendors who have access to the Internet only via a dial-up account.

Summary
Overall, it can be seen that Actinic Catalog represents a much safer
way of transacting business across the Internet than just using SSL
and this applies whether Catalog is used in SSL or Java Applet mode.
This is primarily because it never decrypts the orders at the web
site nor stores them in clear and this is by far the most likely
point of attack.
