- Search engine that scans medical-oriented web sites for matching pages.
- Ahoy!
- A free service designed to help you find the home pages of
individual people on the Web.using a technique called "Dynamic
Reference Sifting" to weed out the least promising pages.
Ahoy!'s ability to remove all but the most precise references, plus
its ability to "guess" URL's makes Ahoy! unlike
conventional search engines.

Search Engine - When checked on the 1st of December 2000 this
site was not functioning, but if it starts to function again the ASE
database contains airport-codes and a list of links to airport pages
on the web.

- Altavista -
AltaVista is consistently one of the largest search engines on the
web, in terms of pages indexed. Its comprehensive coverage and wide
range of power searching commands makes it a particular favorite
among researchers. In addition to crawler-based web page matches, it
also offers news search, shopping search, multimedia search and human-powered
directory results from LookSmart (see below). AltaVista opened in
December 1995. It was owned by Digital, then run by Compaq (which
purchased Digital in 1998), then spun off into a separate company
which is now controlled by CMGI

Ananzi's name comes from a Demi-God of West African mythology. Ananzi
is a trickster who delights in duping animals and men: tales of his
exploits are widespread in West Africa, the Caribbean and South
America. Ananzi Search Engine, devoted to South African web sites
since it's creation in 1996, aims to be the best South African search
engine on the internet.

AOL Search allows its members to search across the web and AOL's own
content from one place. Before the launch of AOL Search in October
1999, the AOL search service was Excite-powered AOL NetFind.
